subxiphoid right S1 segment

Subxiphoid right S 1 segment was performed in 2015, in which the technique was different from the Japanese technique. There was no need to dissect intersegmental veins, and cut the lung along the veins. At that time, anesthetist gently inflated the remaining segments after division of S 1 bronchus to judge intersegmental plane. Then I would cut along the plane directly with staples. Nowadays, we improved our technique to determine intersegmental plane with open insufflation, and after division of bronchus, we’d like to dissect along the bronchus 8-10cm distally, then cut along the inflation-deflation line. This method would let the remaining lung inflate better and has less complications.
